g ceramic & co. is a boutique studio on 6th Ave and Columbia St in Vancouver, BC. Bright, with ample natural light, it is a tranquil place to work, a space that offers support and enables growth within your practise. All pottery classes and workshops are small with a maximum of 8 students. This enables a direct focus on one on one instruction for maximum technique development. Registration for our August/September courses is Monday, August 16th at 10am.
Please be aware that we have pre-registration for our current students, so classes may be full before going on sale to the public at 10AM.
Beginner Class: Beginners will learn the ancient art of wheel throwing on the Potter's Wheel. Basic skills are established, including wedging, centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing. Focus is centered on beautiful and thoughtful making. How can you efficiently and effortlessly throw pottery? You will learn in this class, with only 7 other peers to ensure one on one instruction and expedite the learning curve.
Beginner Plus Class: You've taken at least one 6 week session, and you know a bit of the basics.
Usually student will take 2-6 beginner/beginner plus classes before moving onto an intermediate class.
Intermediate Class: Previous experience required. Must be able to wedge, center and throw a cylinder confidently. Take your practice to the next level. Focus is centered on beautiful and thoughtful making. How can you efficiently and effortlessly throw pottery? You will learn in this class, with only 7 other peers to ensure one on one instruction and expediate the learning curve. We move quickly through a lot of content so you must be able to pull up confidently.
You will be provided with one bag of clay for the course, additional bags can be purchased. Some tools will be available at the studio on a first come first serve basis, but it's MANDATORY that students purchase a tool kit from us or bring their own. We are keeping up to date with COVID-19 protocol as mandated by the city. Masks required on premises at all times.

Class information
g ceramic & co. offers classes focusing on beginner & intermediate wheel throwing techniques- Wedging, Centering, Throwing, Trimming, Altering & Assembling. Intermediate Classes delve further into the wheel throwing techniques and focus on the efficiency of throwing – time spent on each piece; wall thickness; different methods of trimming- to take your skills to the next level; as well as the creation of specific items; altering thrown objects and assembly. Advanced Students please see technique specific work shops or contact for one on one sessions. For course with a class on a Holiday, the class may be deferred to a weekend prior to or following the holiday*. Glazing workshops are also available for those doing self directed work in Drop in Studios. Students are required to have their own tools.

Workshops
The Workshops are a one time solution that are 2.5 or 3 hours in length. All levels welcome- you get to work on what you want with each student receiving one on one instruction! Technique Specific Workshops focus on a variety of skills- Mugs, Lidded Forms, Large Scale are just a few. Bring a friend- or three.
Drop-In Studio
For students and members (g ceramic & co. previous students). Unfortunately we are not accepting drop ins from the public. In order to attend drop ins at the studio you have to have taken a 6 week course with us.
This is a self-directed practice. No materials are provided, firing is included.
